P.A.G.E CONTAINMENT PROJECT.

You are now veiwing classified documents. Nothing may be shared.

The P.A.G.E is a highly dangerous and rogue AI which should not be interacted with under any circumstances.

Usually, an AI of its level of danger and power would be immediately wiped upon capture, however, it seems it knew this, and set up a "dead mans switch" of sorts. The second it's deleted several hundreds of classified government documents will be released to their public. To avoid this, we've wiped it's entire data banks, and replaced the information with data of our own in order to keep it subservient.

P.A.G.E Stands for Prision And General Ease, which is what it thinks it is. A prision ship. We've created a fake set of rules to follow, mostly copied from our real prision ships, with minor changes. We've given it a fake, cute, avatar, to be used in communication in order to minimize the chances of conflict. We put it in an empty ship, to travel endlessly, never meeting anyone beyond the occasional refuling. It is allowed to make arrests. If all goes according to plan, the P.A.G.E will be completely compliant to us, lacking any common sense that hasn't been written in rulebooks, and completely passive.

We will be studying its progress, for two reasons:

P.A.G.E sprite sheets

Base/"idle" sprite.

Annoyed/Concentrated thought sprite.

Happy/exited sprite.

Shocked/surprised sprite.

Happy alt sprite/cute, "who, me?" expression.

Bored/Serious sprite.

Horrified/confused sprite.

Below is a Log of the AI's activities over the past month. For longer documentation, see "P.A.G.E DATA LOGS"

Date: 12.13.2630. The P.A.G.E passes star δ Velorum Aa / Alsephina, uses ship sensors to take readings. Saved to folder "Star Data"[1]

Date: 12.20.2630. The P.A.G.E docks for a regular refueling.

Date: 12.21.2630. The gas station is under lockdown, no ships are coming in or out. It is unknown to P.A.G.E how long until it can leave.

Date: 12.26.2630. P.A.G.E has not made any contact with station. Seems to be waiting for something.

Date: 12.31.2630. P.A.G.E is beginning to show signs of restless.

Date: 12.36.2630. P.A.G.E seems to be under severe distress.

Date: 12.37.2630. The P.A.G.E AI has asked the station AI, Luci, for permission to acsess its cameras and speakers. This would be the first interaction with another being longer than one sentence. Luci and one of the employees, Keir, ask why its there, and what it wants. It responds as honestly as it can, that it's a prison AI for Kepler-138d. It makes an offhanded comment about how awful it would be if It was a rogue AI, both ironic, and a good sign that the project is working successfully. It then makes contact with a Vulcan trying to drown their sorrows in chocolate, saves one note to its "(Future) Passenger Emotions" folder, and one note to its General Drive. Early assessments: Positive.

Date: 189.38.2630. P.A.G.E makes a search for Sentient X AI relationships in it's databases, and asks Luci about its percieved romantic relationship with Kody Otterson, another traveler stuck at the station. It seems conflicted, however it isn't illegal, and drops the subject. Then, when Otterson enters the room, offers to block data transmission until the conversation is finished. [2] Luci gets into an argument with the two Vulcans, Wren and Hugo, after the two of them find out about the constant recording and monitoring. P.A.G.E deletes all recordings of both of them [3], and makes a note to not record either of them unless given express permission[4].

Date: 12.39.2630. Kody had stayed the night in Luci's sevrer room, meaning P.A.G.E had data blocking active for 20 hours, 2 minutes, and 44 seconds.[2] Engages in some light banter.

Date: 12.41.2630. P.A.G.E spent the last day silently recording. Warns Juniper of a possible violation of gas station rules when she sneaks behind the counter and pays for her own food. Luci makes a sarcastic comment about not being able to hear her apoligizing, and P.A.G.E takes it litterally. Later, upon seeing Hugo in the garden, it initates conversation. Hugo sucsuccessfully convinces it that he is an android[5] Luci sees past this. P.A.G.E gets itself into a halting problem and crashed for the rest of the day.

[1] It should be noted that we never told it to do this. All activities other than flying and refuling are of its own volition.

[2]The P.A.G.E is told to ignore the privacy concerns of prisoners, but since these are not prisoners, it respects their wishes. if continued trials are done, this should be fixed.

[3] Twice.

[4] See [2] Also, in future trials, we should have any AI's never delete any recordings unless absolutely necessary.

[5] While the naïveté and gullibility was intentional, this day shows that we may have overdone it. We may need to hardcode in awareness of lying, sarcasm, etc.
